January ’25 update

Note to self…it’s cold in Utah in January. They should put up a sign or something! We had about 12 brave, or slightly crazy people come out to Brighton, Utah last week to help usher in the return of our No-Brainer Ski Week. That number included some new people to our Ski Club along with a few faces we haven’t seen in a while. We hope you had fun! Sure, it was cold on the day we picked to ski and ride from 9am to 9pm. But it was fun!
Most of us only had to show up and have fun. That’s the whole idea behind our No-Brainer Ski Weeks. I just want to point out that our fun was the direct result of the time and effort that Danny Caccia, Kelli McDonald and her husband Paul McDonald put into planning and preparing for our enjoyment. Thank you three for doing a great job for us!
We had warm apple cider…(with an optional spiced rum boost), grilled cheeses made from artisan bread, a charcuterski, Field Parsons on the karaoke machine, all with our inflatable heart as the backdrop.
Yeah…I’m thinking that our No-Brainers are back for good! They don’t have to be in Utah, nor do they have to take place in January. If you’d like to co-host the next one, let’s hear your ideas!
We still have a whole lot of the season remaining. We’re just two weeks from the start of our second NAASF Ski Week at Steamboat Springs, You need to register on https://www.naasf.com/ before the deadline of February 2nd. We currently have 26 registered to attend. That’s a little lower than I expected. Of those, we have 7 signed up to compete. That is much lower than I expected. We could use you in the competitions. Those yahoos from Delta are going to think that they are unstoppable if we let them get out to a big lead in just the second week. Just send me an email and I’ll help you change your registration from a party to a race…(you can still party!)
Be sure to head over to our website for all of the info for this and all of our events.
Our biggest event is of course Niseko, Japan. And to get us up to speed, I’ll turn this over to our wonderful VP, Kelli McDonald.
