Winter Park/Brighton No-Brainer review

Winter Park, CO. February 10, 10:25pm…

I think that was about the time and place we peaked during our final NAASF Ski Week of the season. Well after our wonderful Team Dinner at Hernando’s Pizza Pub. And right in the middle of some amazing karaoke performances. Singing out loud brings out the best in people. We saw plenty of it when we crashed the UAL/DL Team Dinner after party. Just a quick sample of the fun times we shared during our Winter Park Ski Week!
Here are some stats from the Ski Week…
* 38 registered SWA Ski Club members and guests.
* 377 total Ski Week registrations with NAASF!
* 21 Top 10 finishes in all events for our Ski Club
* The “Fireball Fun Race” did indeed involve shots of Fireball! SHOCKING!
The WP event organizers are asking for your input to make future events better. Here’s a quick survey for you.
The year end results aren’t in our favor. And that’s OK. Our friends at the Delta Ski & Snowboard Club swept all three Cups for the season. We’ll be giving the Shredder’s Cup to them next season….Just in time to try to get it back!
Brighton, Utah February 22-25
We had a short break at home to give us time to prep for the No-Brainer at Brighton, Utah. Almost 20 of us enjoyed a blue-bird day and a not so blue-bird day on the fun and meandering trails of my favorite resort.
Our only real organized event during our No-Brainer is our Tuesday Tailgate party. Tuesday’s weather was less than ideal. We decided to change the Tailgate Party to a Condo Party. Might have been the smartest decision of the week…although lunch with H worked out pretty good too!
Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped make our beloved No-Brainer a success. We’ve already penciled in some possible dates for next year. We’re looking at the third or fourth week of March, 2027. A full week or two after the 66th WASC in Big White, Canada Feb 28-Mar 4) and equally before the final NAASF Ski Week in Palisades, CA. (Apr 4-Apr 9). And…we’re looking at a  bigger and better condo that can accommodate our entire group! We’ll add details asap.
Planning continues for our big trip to Kitzbuhel, Austria (March 22-27). Over 50 of us at last count will be joining over 750 total attendees from 60 plus Airlines. I cannot emphasize just how much of a big deal this event can be. You’ve no doubt seen or heard me describe it before as the “Winter Olympics” for Airline Ski Teams. The registration link is closed for the event. But you can still register to attend with a few emails to the right people. I can hook you up! And, if you are a female…snowboarder…and excited to race…I’ll buy a one of those giant Austrian steins of beer and a pretzel!
Thanks for reading. We’ll see you in Austria!
