NAASF Ski Weeks 2023

After all of the obstacles we faced throughout the pandemic. We’re now faced with a unique “post-covid” ordeal that we never expected. Nearly all of the hospitality industry tried desperately to hold on to revenue that they had received over the past two years. Their best tool was to offer deferred bookings versus refunds. All of those deferments are coming due in 2023. The obstacle that we face is a very high demand for lodging. So, our usual discounts on lodging are nearly nonexistent. And, what discounts we are being offered are not what we’re used to.
In years past, finding your own lodging was frowned upon. Now, it’s being encouraged. In the information below, you’ll see a modest discount for lodging at Taos. It’s good for lodging booked for Monday through Friday. A Sunday night stay at The Blake is significantly higher. Lodging nearby, and in the town of Taos is available. And, the drive to/from town and the ski resort isn’t terrible.
Our best method to save is to group up. Use the Facebook groups to find your roommates. There’s lots of other people looking to find people to help save. If you need any help, feel free to send me an email.
The rest of the Ski Weeks are still in the planning stages. Lift ticket prices, venues for evening social events, race times and places are still being worked out.
We do at least have a theme for Wednesday night in Taos…”Bikers and Babes”  A theme like that should make for a good looking group.
Secure your lodging for Taos asap. There is a generous cancellation policy that you’ll see below.

The dates were just recently secured with the resort. All of the details are still being worked out. We have already been informed that lodging discounts will not be offered. So, just like the Taos Ski Week, we’re encouraging you to find lodging on your own.
There will be lift ticket discounts announced in the future. As well as the rest of the Ski Week itinerary. I’ll post those details just as soon as they are announced.

Palisades Tahoe Apr 9-14

Your internet isn’t broken. I’m just repeating myself…..I do not expect to see any lodging discounts for this Ski Week. I hope that I’m wrong. Probably not though. Find the lodging that you’re most comfortable with.
For those of you that are new to the Ski Club, please don’t be discouraged. This isn’t normal for us. We’re used to good discounts on nearly everything at the resorts we visit. I’m hopeful that we’ll see those again in the ’24 season.
The NAASF spring Ski Week has a unique charm that shouldn’t be missed. Enjoying this charm along with the breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe makes it that much better.
Par for the course, I’ll post more info when it becomes available.
